Movie Network: 2015

Kevin James is back on the big screen. And that is something that fans of the series The King of Queens can eagerly look forward to.

Kevin James, however, has up to now shown the level of the series can not always equal in his films. Movies and Grown-Ups, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and Paul Blart: Mall Cop showed especially seeing a restrained and spasmodic Kevin James. This time he may try again with Zookeeper, a film that promises much on paper anyway with mostly his cast. Let Kevin James finally show what he's capable of?

Marriage proposal
Zookeeper tells the story about the zookeeper Griffin Keyes benign (Kevin James). His elitist ex (Leslie Bibb) has ever rejected Grif Finnish marriage proposal, mainly because of his job as a zookeeper, and he is convinced that he must resign at the zoo to get a woman and happiness. The animals from the zoo but nothing like this, panic and decide to give a well-kept secret price, hoping that Griffin for the zoo can continue working.

Safe
You can not avoid the suspicion that Kevin James with his films especially to appeal to a wide audience as much as possible and play it safe. You only need to see a couple episodes of The King of Queens to face what this comedian in his march. The series is witty, sharp and knows the character of Doug Heffernan a mirror for many adult men. Of course the target of Zookeeper is a whole different, but every ounce of comic talent that Kevin James in himself, in his films seems completely gone. Unfortunately that is not different here.

Look Away
The many clichés are to be expected at a family film like this, but director Frank Coraci exaggerates quite insulting and even here the intellect of a child. Zookeeper's formula work par excellence, is terribly moralistic and makes no effort to transform any kind of inventiveness or freshness on the screen. Your toes will be bent of vicarious shame when actors like Nick Nolte, Sylvester Stallone and Cher busy even hear a voice, and unfortunately humor, indicating respectively Bernie the gorilla, Joe the lion and the lioness Janet. But the worst is Maya Rudolph as Mollie the giraffe. Those intentions to be funny do you really look away from the screen. Rosario Dawson is a small bright spot among all this gemartel but unfortunately quickly overlooked.

Conclusion
Kevin James late, after films like Grown-Ups and Now I Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, also in Zookeeper not see what he has in his march as a comedian. Director Frank Coraci makes it all but very fur by the abundance of clichés, the complete lack of inventiveness and the toe-curling bad humor, which you do in moments of vicarious shame looking away. Doug Heffernan looks at such times very far away.
